Agreed. My spouse said her father, when traveling to Paris on business, was always openly propositioned even at the nicest hotels. In one case, he was on an elevator and the young lady who was on the elevator with him got off with him at his floor and openly asked if he'd like overnight company. He declined.
I suspect this is a sign either that a) the economy is getting better for visiting business people from the U.S., or b) the economy is getting worse for the local "professionals" in France. Or just that the world's oldest profession is continuing with business as usual.
