You can't complain about OTP, and then complain about remedial measures. I used to cut t tight to 30m, now I will now cut it tight to 45m and have an extra drink and snack on AC in the lounge (which was usually skipped altogether at 30m cut off).
Glad YTZ is not affected, and 45m is more in line with standards in other countries so I won't grumble, plus if yo check in online, have a BP and no baggage, nothing is changing. On the other hand, I have no idea where this information was from and I would have been unlikely to read anything when doing my robot moves with online check in so thank you OP and thumbs down to AC communication.
EDIT TO ADD - oh now I follow the link. OK, firstly the title should be traveling WITHIN Canada, not from Canada. And I would never have clicked on that link from the homepage it is abysmally uninformative and attracts no attention, it should say Air Canada changes minimum check in times on domestic flights, then we would know what it was about, know it was important and click, it also deserves some level of prominence and IMO an e-mail to frequent flyers who are likely to use a mobile app and never see that. The way this is published on the website, makes me think of a TnC in tiny unreadable script that will always be designed to screw over the consumer.
Conclusion : Policy - I'll live with it; Communication - Could barely be worse.
