Not just some the last but the last. CO had several 757-300's on order when Boeing came in and paid them to convert the orders to 737-900s in order to shut down the production line.
While people may not be fans of the 757-300 it comes with one of the lowest CASMs of any aircraft making it the airframe of choice to compete against LCCs and leisure routes.
well it might have been a great plane but Boeing was not able to convince anyone to buy them. I always hoped Boeing would re-engine the plane to be more efficient and sell it again.. Oh well we are getting the 737-900 instead.
