Delsey has many lines at different quality and price levels. That said, the last time I was shopping for luggage, none of their lines made my short list at their price levels.

At higher price points---high by my standards ---I found B&R and Red Oxx to provide the best value. Others have decided in favor of Kirkland (Costco), eBags, etc., so there are a few choices.

Your strategy of buying at medium price/quality (Samsonite etc) is good in the short run, but warranties are poor and unreliable and, by buying replacements every few years, is likely to cost more in the long run.

At lower price points, I would just get some no-name brand, why pay for the Delsey name? I would not do this for checked luggage, but for something that gets lighter use/abuse.
