While I don't have an exact answer, I expect they can and will charge you for the change. I once dropped a car off 4 days early and it nearly cost me several hundred dollars (a polite but firm disagreement from me with the manager worked, but only after a lot of time and after I requested the contact information for her regional manager). I suspect you're better off calling customer service in advance rather than waiting and hoping for the best.
