Luzern/Lucerne - take the train from Zurich.
* From the station turn left at the river and visit the Jesuit church
* From there walk back to the Chapel Bridge and cross the river.
Don't forget to look up at the paintings in the triangular roof panels.
* At the end of the bridge, turn right and walk up to the bridge where the river meets the lake. Turn left. Approx 100 m on your left is the jewellers, Bucherer.
* Go into Bucherer, marvel at the wonderful designs and craftsmanship and go up to the top floor on the escalator. Enjoy watching the largest ballbearing clock in the world. On the top floor there is a very reasonably priced souvenir shop!
* Go out of Bucherer, cross the road and wander along the lake shore.
* You might retrace your steps between the lake and the Chapel Bridge (you've already walked along there) and stop for a good local beer at the Rathausbrauerei - the Town Hall's microbrewery) where you can also try a typical Fondue.
* Hotel Seeburg is a good overnight stop - quiet, comfy, with delightful lake views and walkable from the town (approx 20 mins), but also on a bus route if you have luggage.
