I fear the situation will be different in a few weeks, so I'm seeking your opinions for a YVR-LHR routing on Monday 8 April. My dilemma is balancing the convenience of a direct flight with the probability of TATL eupgrade (I am E50).

The best options as I see are:

1. AC854 direct (R0 J5)

2. AC100 to YYZ (R9 J9) then the late flight AC858 to LHR (R7 J9)

3. AC194 to YUL (R3 J9) then AC864 to LHR (R9 J9)


What is the wisdom of the forum on upgrade chances out of YVR and YYZ? Or more philosophically, is 13 hours of lounge and J travel better than 8 hours of cramped Y on a 777?
