yes, there are bones as the catfish is served steak style, which actually makes it easier to pick out bones IMO. Bones do provide flavor as you know.
Speaking of dining Do, there was a progressive Vietnamese dinner awhile ago, lots of fun, perhaps time to do another one as there are some places I haven't been and if you make it, I personally promise to debone your clay pot catfish
