One secret tip on Maldives- you are super close to Sri Lanka which is a country I absolutely fell in love with- whether you choose the Luxury of the 2 Amans and the Tea Trails or simpler accomodation or something upscale like the Villa at Bentota- every category I simply loved and found to be a much better overall experience than the Maldives which felt to me like Disneyland as opposed to a real place people live and work (I know this is not the case at all however that is how I felt).
