Hi i came to this section in the hope of any australian may help me in relation to (smarttraver .com ) website.

Im goiing to europe to germany/finland in january 2014.
I already brought airline tickets with expedia and hotel on thier official website and one hotel from booking .com website.

I also included 288.00 dollars full travel insurance from flight centre.

Know about the smarttraver website. Is this website going to be of any help for me? I mean when should i begin to registar smarttraveler ? I mean isnt my travel insurance enough as it is to protect me from everything since i paid 288.00 ?

If so is smart traveler also a travel insurance ? And do i just register and do what next ? I just hope it will not mess up with my travel airline and bookings and such along the way since i have travel insurance included by flight centre.

But over all Give me a quick run. And what will i expect from smart traveler and what am i am there to register for? I know that if something happen to me. The australian goverment will yet still help me despite i hold a australian passport. So not sure why register smarttravelar for ?

My travel isnt until 10 months time. On the 7th of january 2014. Not sure when to begin. But i know germany is a quite a safe place with no war or such. Only issues are delays with heavy snow but that isnt something smart traveler website should inform me when i might have apps that shows me what the weather would be like.
