Internet and housekeeping problems aside, I wonder how much you stay here or are aware of your surroundings? I've been staying here and others Parisien business class hotels for over 15 years and there have ALWAYS been working girls in the lobby and in front of the hotel at night. And guess why? They have customers who want them. Otherwise they would not be there. And Paris isn't the only city like this. Around much of the world you can see the same thing at business class hotels.

And a "social action" is a strike effectively. That can happen anywhere and while it sucks, you have to deal with it. And your friend should have had a euro charger if she was traveling to Europe.

So I really don't see what the big deal is with your stay, aside from the Internet being out, which indeed would upset me too. Sorry to be a devils advocate, but that's what we do here.
