Dear Red Oxx... why the handle?

I like my Air Boss. I really do.

But what I don't like is the handle design. Because it takes two straps and forces you to double-snap it closed at the top, it does two things:

a) It's hard to "sneak" an item in or out. At security and just want to reach in to grab your 3-1-1 bag? No, you have to undo the whole thing just to unzip the bag enough to reach in and pull it out. Sometimes, granted, you can kind of work your way "around" the handle, but it's just a pain in the butt.

b) When you DO unzip the thing, doing it back up is even worse. You have to pull on each handle, line the fabric up, and press down on each of the snaps independently. If you just "grab it and go," it wants to pull apart in your hand unless you take the time to snap it together.

This is really getting to be a PITA. I'm not a fan of Tom Bihn's stuff. (Sorry, Bihners). I was considering something like the Gate8 folding trifold garment bag, based on the positive reviews.

I really want a small "seat" bag I can grab out of the RedOxx to take on the plane when I have to gate-check (and yes - sometimes it's just easier to gate check.) But now I'm sitting on the jetway fighting with the darn thing to wiggle out a bag. Sadly, I was looking at Red Oxx bags (like the Metro or the Gator) they all have that same 'two-fold strappy handle' design.
