Fake cried? That's an odd reaction.

I don't think I've had the case where I specifically ordered a veg meal on a long flight and been given something else, that'd probably be the fault of the caterer if that happened... but normally if I'm flying a short-haul with a snack, I always always double check, especially on Lufthansa. I find they're just less careful about it in general.

Eating vegetarian outside of a big city in Germany is difficult at best, and whenever I go to "rural" customer sites, I often get asked condescendingly about it. I've been been served Käsespätzle with bacon (after asking for without) and been told things like "You should know by now that in Germany, bacon's vegetarian."
