Like any airline, AS has put out a few bad apples here and there. That said, the worst AS crew has nothing on the bitter matrons serving pax on UA. Actually, the DMV and IRS seem well trained in customer service compared to UA.
If you forget how good we have it on AS, can always book UA IAD-SFO to get snapped back into reality.
150,000 miles on UA in the last 18 months and I have yet to have a bad UA crew. On the whole, they are not as overwhelmingly outgoing and warm as AS crews, but they are generally prompt, courteous, and professional--PMCO crews slightly less so (occasionally, they can be absent), but PMUA crews have universally been quite good.
