Caution regarding Delta's Visa broker

As has been previously commented on, Delta's web site directs you to "VisaCentral, the fastest, easiest and most secure way to obtain your travel visa".

While all brokers charge fees, the ones from Visa Central appear to be exorbitantly high, by any standards. Pricing a single-entry tourist visa to Russia comes out to $518: this includes the fee they charge for obtaining the invitation, required for a Russian visa, and an inflated shipping fee of $42 for Fedex OT.

By comparison, another well-known company charges a total of $249, all invitations, processing etc. and $18 for 2nd day Fedex, $25 for priority overnight Fedex, for a total of $274.

BTW, I had to wait a lot longer on the phone to get through to Visa Central as well, to ask about the additional invitation fee, which they do not specify on their web site.
