I did this recently when I wanted a backup just in case the person who was suppose to meet me by my room and take me down didnt show up. Didnt want to end up not finding any Housekeeping person who didnt speak good enough English to understand what I needed not able to use a phone (long story) thankfully I didnt need to use it but it was nice knowing I had it if I needed it
Heck, I do this sometimes when traveling abroad myself (or prepare cards for inexperienced/nervous travelers who ask me for advice) with common "help me please" phrases. And for me, a card with English and local language stating "I have the following dietary restrictions... I can eat..... Can you help me order something appropriate?" (for when my language phrasebook skills or Google translate just aren't working). I noticed in Taiwan that several hotels handed out business cards if you were going walking with address, phone, directions, and also "front desk will guarantee taxi fare to hotel" (in case people got lost/confused).
