The number of participating properties for these monthly sales is dismal in the markets that I frequent. For example, none of the Boston hotels has offered any of the C48xxx discounts in the past 6 months or so. I really don't see a point in running them if only a handful hotels take part. Let the hotels run their own promos but don't tout these as chain-wide when they are regional at best.
In the past it wasnt a "handful" of hotels... the lists were quite extensive across a myriad of markets.

Personally, I found the discounts to be only slightly less than most of the corporate negotiated rates, so I have rarely participated... but for those who dont want to lie by using corporate codes, these promos arent bad.
