She doesn't speak Cantonese either, so that's why I was going to get a ticket and fly with her (thus the $1500USD offer for someone to do it), but seems like this is possible with me going.

Now the more I read about this, can't I request a wheelchair service for her, so that my MIL is taken care of all the way from Check-in into her seat?
