Make sure your MIL's PNR is annotated now so that when you ask for one at check-in, they oblige.

Wait until she boards. If she's healthy, nobody needs to walk her to her seat, but maybe you'll find a kind
GA or passenger who will point her to her seat. I assume she speaks Cantonese?
