If you're 2/3 short of the TPs required to hit a status, you should probably ask if the status is worth the expense it will cost to obtain it. I.e. do you fly enough to make that status worthwhile?
You can get the equivalent of BA Silver by taking out an Amex Platinum credit card, which costs £450 a year. (Though don't do it just yet as the sign up bonus is terrible this month).
