Please Help! Booking and paying for someone else's ticket
I was hoping a seasoned DL traveler could help me out. I am meeting a co-worker in NRT and I am flying from EWR and he is flying from MNL. He was having problems booking his ticket so I went on DL.com to book a business class ticket from MNL-NRT (using my credit card to pay). After being confirmed it said the traveler (my co-worker) has to present the credit card used for the purchase and ID for the credit card holder on the day of travel or before at the airport or he will be denied boarding. He is in Manila so it would be a little difficult for me to present my credit card and ID. I have a few questions I was hoping someone could answer.
1) If I provide a photo copy of both sides of my credit card and my passport and he brought that to the airport would that be sufficient? or,
2) Could I go to the Delta counter in EWR before my flight and show the credit card and my ID and would that be deemed sufficient? or,
3) Should I cancel my booking on DL.com and just book on a third party travel site (I assume since they pay DL for the flight this showing the credit card will not be a problem).
We have a very important business meeting and I simply must make sure my co-worker arrives on time. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
