For these LAS hotels, at least some of them will include 2 bottles of water and a daily newspaper, maybe a 50% off or 2 for 1 dining/drink coupon to make you "feel" better, not that everyone used it. Considering that a bottle of tap water will cost at least a $1 on the gaming floor while you played ...
We generally get fullly comp'd for our stays in Sin City and our host take care of the meals charged back to our room account and also the daily resort fees ($20 night for ours) - considering our usual "vested" contributions at the slots & gaming tables, it doesn't matter to us. And, we don't have to spend extra for internet access - some of them only cover one (1) single device for broadband access.
For the average visitor, it stinks to see the advertised midweek promo special of $49 per room, until you add up the taxes/surcharges PLUS the mandatory $20 daily resort fee
