A new lounge access policy is being drawn up to simplify the rules so that customers and staff can both easily understand them.
In the meantime, please have patience. Contrary to popular belief, most lounge dragons don't rejoice in confrontation wih customers, but there is a great risk of getting your most prized assets chewed off if you let someone in who isn't entitled!
In reality this is great, in practice though as we have already been told there is thousands of staff and it will take a long time for training to be rolled out.
I was denied entry in April 2012, 11 months ago, Nicci herself came on here and said that Lounge managers had been alerted to this fact and that still months later there are issues (with duty managers even not being aware of the correct policies).
I now have status so it doesn't really matter to me. I have also redeemed the avios given to me for my denial of entry but in my company this would be looked at as a performance issue that is not rectified and it is costing the company reputational risk and financially. I wonder how high it needs to go before something to rectify the matter is done.
