I don't use a pool - I have one at home that I don't use, I use a cell phone for all calls, I have a cell/Internet access so I don't need WiFi (more secure anyway), I don't use the gym so I don't need the stuff the resort fee includes.
Greedy hotels just want to copy the airlines with add-on fees. A few years ago there was a energy fee. Since I paid it I turned on every light and set the temp to 58° when I left. I wanted to make sure I got the full benefit of the fee.
