If you miss a sector you don't get the TPs and all following sectors, including the return, will get automatically cancelled. They can be re-instated but I cannot imagine for one second that IB would do that unless there was a further outbreak of industrial (in)action.

Have you had a look at Air Berlin options, or a good play on ITA Matrix? The latter website won't help on Avios, but will find the best fare.
