Maximising the Reward Seats with Avios

This is probably quite a simple answer but I just want to ensure I'm understanding correctly some of great advice I've read across the forum so please can I get some clarification from the wiser heads:

Feb 2014, I want to take my wife and our then 11 month old baby away to the Caribbean. Ideally I'd like to buy WT+ and UUA to CW. However, when I look at reward seats there are only outgoing flights available at this moment.

So should I:

A) buy 2 adult and 1 infant CW reward seat now, one way, knowing that as I'm Gold I can cancel later without any charge, then wait for return reward flights to become available and when they do, buy 2 WT+ tickets then and call CS to cancel the outbound reward seats and UUA the whole journey
B) buy 2 outgoing CW reward now and also buy the return flight in WT+
C) buy 2 outgoing CW reward now but hold off buying the WT+ now as its 12 months away and the prices will likely come down. Then if return reward become available just buy them now using Avios and when eventually I buy the WT+ cancel the whole CW reward legs and UUA the whole WT+ ticket

Hopefully I'm not over complicating but my concern is if I wait for return CW to become available the outbound may have disappeared by then.

Thanks in advance for the advice
