@greendx: Very strange. You don't know how to use points yet you managed to accumulate almost a million points and learn enough about manufactured spend. Before you go and spend that $79 per month on VR fees you should know that points don't hold value very well. If your plan to travel more than a year in the future I would recommend you stop thinking about getting new points and start thinking about spending what you have before they lose value.
First, yes, I feel strange too. I found that it is easy to earn points by sign up credit cards bonus by 2 or 3 browser tricks from this forum, boarding area, and millionmilesecrets. After I read these forum, I found some tricks to make a lot of Chase points without spending a lot or almost nothing spending. I remember Venmo. I earned a lot of Chase points by making a lot small transaction without being charge any fee. I knew a day that Venmo didn't charge anything even though I sent $1.01 to my brother and withdrew it. After I did a lot of transactions, Venmo closed my account. But it was ok because l didn't lose any thing at Venmo. I didn't learn how to book points for hotels and airline because I am still a student. I worked part time. So I dont have time for travel. In addition, I have tried to get a lot of points because I know how to do 2 or 3 browser trick, and my Fico is still 769 after I did my first churn. There are a lot of great sign up bonus credit cards. I dont want to let them pass. I learn how to manage Fico at 760 even with my churning. So I have nothing to lose or cost me nothing to get sign up bonus.
Second, I know that point is devaluation but I see a lot of beautiful starwood hotel review from blogger. That's why I am thinking to manufacture points because I have a lot sources for beans around me. However, this time it will cost me $7.95 for each 1000 point. I am scared to spend money for manufacturing cuz student no money
@mintcilantro: Those are valid responses. If you are ok with planning your travel around your points then SPG would be a better option for you as diversification helps in this game. I never pass a good deal to acquire points. I know someday I'll find a good use for them. If you travel frequent enough and don't have too many constraints, then it all works out in the end. Sure you will regret collecting some points but you will love the opportunity to exploit promotions when you have the right balances.
Yes, I have the same thought with you. It costs me almost nothing to gain those Chase points. In other word, my Fico credit score is still high at 760 after my first churn.
