Outgoing for breakfast was a choice of some type of egg dish or maple walnut french toast with fresh fruit and a biscuit. Return flight started with an appetizer of shrimp on a chipolte sauce and salad. Dinner was chicken stir fry (which was actually good) or penne with marinara sauce. Standard apple tart for desert. Wine and drinks were refreshed every 5 minutes. Service was excellent.
I've read US Airways was updating first class meals. This is a good start for a "domestic" flight.
I had at least 12 trips to SJU the past 9 months either via PHL and CLT (mostly PHL outbound and CLT return) and had been upgraded in all flights except for a couple. The food had been decent but the services vary. There were services as you described and there were cases where FA will just sit most of the time reading after the meal service. Of course, you can always push the button if you need your drink refreshed.
