I have a Chase Southwest Plus personal card that I have had for about a year ($18,000 CL). I applied for and received immediate approval for the Chase Sapphire Preferred a few weeks ago ($13,000 CL) and 2 days later applied for the Ink Bold. I received the "we'll let you know" response on the Ink Bold. I called the next day and after a few questions they approved it with $5k and then asked if I wanted to transfer up to $8k from my SW personal card.

It really just must depend on who you talk to when you call.
