In fact, account access by itself is insufficient anyway. The fees (and taxes) must be paid with a credit card matching the account owner's name, so you'd need to give them both account access and your credit card.
Is this a published rule? On several occasions I have, with permission of course, booked award travel for myself using a relative's account, but I paid the fee with my own credit card. Same last name but different first name.
