Other than flying, as I am sure the OP knows, there is generally no way of earning Elite-Qualifying Points, and there is no current DEQP offer (they are pretty rare in any case). The offer is sufficiently attractive to do the seat miles, or it's not actually useful in the long run and given it appears there was no fee paid (unlike the documented Gold and Platinum Challenges), nothing gained, nothing lost.
