These are short segments, so I wouldn't be that concerned about getting a better chance of upgrades as a Delta elite; on the other hand, your DL status gives you a free Economy Comfort seating.

If it were me, I'd add my AS Gold#, take the extra AS miles and higher overall status of Sky Team Elite Plus. If you are on the same reservation, both of you should be eligible for exit row seats (no free EC I'm afraid).

I had forgotten about the AS Gold security access, which at a mob scene like MCO should help with all those leisure travelers in the "regular" lanes. Just make sure you're both on the same reservation (PNR).
