i just got off the phone with UA res in an attempt to reserve child's meals. on an upcoming itin, we have two adults, 1 child in seat and 1 lap infant. i was able to reserve the child meal for the one with a seat but was told that they was no way we would get another meal for the lap infant. since UA stopped serving baby food, that was out of the question too. for a 15hr flight, ewr-pvg, i was advised to bring enough food because "it's a very long flight".

my question is, is this typical protocol for UA? we have flown on this long haul arrangement on KE and OZ (jfk-icn) and those carriers do provide infant meals, without me inquiring actually.
