Not true per the Customer Rep - I scanned the pass issued by Citi and sent it to the customer service rep

The pass that was attached is a complimentary One-Day pass to any Admirals Club. Unlike the purchased One-Day pass, which allows you to visit regardless of the carrier you are traveling, this pass requires that you have a valid same day boarding pass for American Airlines. Were you traveling with American Airlines when you tried to use it? If so, would you mind providing the details so I can work with my managers on this?
