Seasoned churner, I currently have 4 chase cards,

Chase United Business Open 4/12
Marriott 4/12
Sapphire 3/12
Chase Ink 12/12

Waited approx 100 days to apply for SW Visa Pers and Business. Trying for companion pass. Was not approved immediately, called chase 2 days later to reconsideration line. I was figuring they would just transfer line and close out old accounts but they told me they cannot transfer any lines of credit.

I told them that my Marriott, Chase Business and Saphhire were all nearing their annual fee next month and I would like to transfer credit line to new applications but CSR would not let me. I tried twice and stopped due to not trying to bring too much attention to my accounts.

Anyone have trouble lately.

FYI, my wife currently has 3 chase cards, I was told our household limit is 8 and we currently have 7. I asked if they would approve the "8th card" and CSR said no. We pay all of our credit on time, Credit history 750+.

I am thinking of rather than trying to push Chase, I may just close the Marriott, Sapphire and United card and try again in 3 months. Thoughts?
