At the moment I have a Gold card but am really struggling to justify the annual fee - especially as I don't travel as much as I used to.

A friend just sent me details of the following card...

American Express Platinum Cashback

...and now I can't help but think I would benefit more from this one.

The fee is only £25 a year - and it appears you get 1.25% cashback on all spending...along with purchase protection etc.

Is there a catch?

Has anyone else made the switch?
