There's a chance you end up with the best suite in the house on the lowest rate (normal room) booking. Of course there's a chance that you'll get a "nicer" suite then you are entitled to on this award stay.
The real question is what room you're most likely to end up with. The answer is the room you booked (low level suite).
A reasonable follow-up question would then be how you can improve your chances of getting a "nicer" suite. I would suggest emailing the hotel and letting them know how excited you are for the stay, and of course let them know if it's a special occasion. Repeat this when you check in.
