Ever think of getting there another way... or even of purchasing a ticket starting from your destination?
It's all in the fares, sometimes a return is cheaper than a one-way.

Or there can even be some "legitimate" use if you for example have missed your outbound and got to your destination by purchasing an additional one-way.
