My partner and I both have MP accounts - I am Plat, they are now GM.

For revenue tickets, I typically purchase for both of us (or all of us when the family comes along) so we all get my status / benefits.

Once I purchase the tickets, can I then request that the miles for the upgrade (20,000 miles per ticket in this case too) come from my partner's account?

I would much rather preserve my more valuable Plat miles for actual award bookings, so it would be great if I could use miles from my partners (or even the kids) accounts for mileage upgrades.

In this case, I already used 80,000 miles from my account to upgrade 4 tickets. Does anybody have experience calling in and having them redeposit your miles and then use miles from a different MP account? Or would I run the risk of lack of upgrade inventory availability if I try this?

Thanks for any insights.
