A380 listed maximum range is 8,300nm (SYD-DFW is almost 8,600nm).
MEL-LAX is just under 8,000nm and I believe the longest current A380 route.
Current production 787-8's range is 8,000nm (target was 8,200nm). 787-9 is planned as 8,500nm max.
For reference, Boeing lists the 747-400ER max range as 7670nm, so almost 1,000nm short.
