Only AA "SAAver" award seats may be utilized on Explorer awards; AA's more expensive "AAnytime" award seats may not be utilized on such awards.

Any oneworld-partner award seat that shows up on aa.com may be used on an Explorer award itinerary. For oneworld partners whose award seats cannot be displayed on aa.com, some may offer more than one tier of award seats to members of their own frequent-flyer programs; typically only the lowest tier award seats (i.e., those requiring the fewest number of points/miles for redemption) may be utilized on an Explorer award.
