I know that Chase initially shows as a cash advance and then turns into a purchase, but wanted to confirm that this is still the case.

Hard to say, for me it sometimes takes a week to convert. My last one converted maybe 5 days ago. So it was fine then but who knows, it could happen at anytime. Lots of folks will be reporting it when it happens unless you are in the unlucky first group to board. Be lots of squawking if/when it reports as a CA after 10 days or so.
