Aerolineas and Austral are still 4th tier carriers, although some short-haul domestic routes can be pleasant if you get one of the new planes, get lucky with no operational disruptions and have a good humoured cabin crew..... the problem is that chances of all the above coming together are slim.

On the other hand.... AR in long haul international is another story. Im blessed to have not been on AR for over 20 years now (on international routes) but the horror stories you hear make it a no brainer to avoid them like the Plague.
