Go with MarLim's advice.

In Germany you'll be able to drive faster on the Autobahn than in Switzerland. And you'll avoid any traffic that you might have to deal with at the Basel border crossing. You might also have to deal with traffic in Zürich and Sargans along the way as well.

So, it might be a 30 minute longer journey in theory, but it'll probably end up being at least an hour faster.
