Any point in pursuing ? (compensation for delay)

Short description of situation, end of last month:
- Stuck in FRA from Lisbon, onward flight to BRU cancelled due to weather conditions in FRA&BRU (LH1014)
- Even though afternoon cleared up & both FRA and BRU were fully operational (checked respective websites), LH also cancelled further afternoon flights (LH1016/1018
- End result well over 10h delay, got on the last flight to BRU (& happy about that, let there be no mistake)

Submitted request for compensation, very clearly pointing out that I wasn't upset with LH1014, but rather with the cancellation of subsequent flights as this in my view was purely an operational choice by LH (choice that cost me a major delay & missed meetings). For the record: earlier this year got 2 days delay Dublin-FRA due to weather, and did not file complaint as it was clear that the airports were indeed in trouble.

Today got an overall very nice letter from LH Customer Service ... that consists of 3/4 explaining that LH1014 was cancelled due to weather & hence no compensation, and a short paragraph saying "sorry that we couldn't book you on your preferred onward flights" (small sarcastic note ... well, you cancelled those, for no good reason)

Not gonna loose sleep over it & continuing LH bookings despite multiple mishaps & delays in past 2 months, but any views as to whether there's a sensible way to pursue this any further ? I'm FTL if that makes any difference.
(the letter I received was hard copy, no e-mail address, 'as if' case closed anyway ... which is probably what LH is aiming at)
