I think you know you won't get access. Firstly you're not flying in on BA, secondly you're not in CW or above. Even as a GGL you don't get arrivals lounge access on shorthaul. They are very strict at the Arrivals lounge - I was prevented this week from entering the Concorde Dining Area even with a CCR card as I had arrived in WT+ rather than in CW which is apparently the threshold for this particular combination..

I agree that you are almost certainly right. There is a pleadable argument to the contrary.

The more serious points are (a) David-A's good point that if BA sell point to point fares LHR-MIA-LHR which include transfers in MAD as part of their attempt to create a second less congested European hub then they should reconsider the access policy and (b) they should look again at the drafting of the page I linked to above.

And yes I am mildly irritated with myself for not thinking of this before
