The UC window seats are basically facing away from the windows. (maybe a 20-25 degree angle) I suppose you can probably turn your head to look at the window. Alternatively the centre seats are facing the windows, and the shades ought to be open for takeoff and landing so I'm sure you would be able to take a look outside from that vantage point...

Can't remember if VS have the outside camera on their inflight entertainment system...
