Run your card for $10k at a merchant... have them cut you a check for $9700 and send them a bill for "consulting" for $9700.

Problem is they'll probably want to send you a 1099, so you'd need to find a way to write off the $10k to make everything tax neutral.

If you can't do that, you could send him a receipt as an "overseas" contractor, so a 1099 wouldn't be necessary, and I have a few overseas contractors myself whose work I write off (though the work they do is legitimate), but at this point you're starting to lie to the IRS, so in the event of an audit, it wouldn't look pretty.
