The check-in counter at FAI had no problem printing a bag tag FAI-ANC-OTZ-PHO, but when I arrived in OTZ, the AS staff said they didn't transfer bags. Era has a shuttle, so I loaded them in their van and brought them to the Era terminal. Era staff in OTZ retagged it. I think I carried it out to the plane and unloaded it myself in PHO (no terminal), so the tag was unneccessary. "Checked" baggage was effectively carry-on, but behind the cargo net. This was a Hageland-operated cessna, not sure if it is different for "mainline" or if it simply varies by station. As PHO has no commercial terminal, obviously my bag was untagged on the return, so I had to carry it over to AS in OTZ.
I'll report on my experiences in both directions to VAK... hopefully i won't have to recheck in BET when going from Era to Hageland, either.
