Found alt flights with saver GF but now he repeats that the HA saver award is not available (continue banging head on keyboard)
Explain it is available and he can see it on ua.com. He tells me it what we refer to as “phantom availability”. He then tells me if I try and book it online I will get an error. I say I’m game, hold while I book it and then cancel for me when I finish.
Booked the flight for 5K miles and $2.50 fees and now have a PNR number. His reply, oh it didn’t really book it and will never really go through in reality….
This is a wild experience and now on phone for 1 hour 55 minutes
